Position Overview

We are seeking an accomplished and commercially driven Sr. Director of Digital to lead a high-impact digital growth agenda across e-commerce, CRM, performance marketing, customer experience, and digital platforms. This freelance leadership role will translate strategic objectives into measurable plans that strengthen direct-to-consumer performance while delivering a premium, cohesive brand experience across digital channels.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Shape Digital Strategy: Develop and execute an integrated roadmap across e-commerce, CRM, paid media, content, customer experience, and platform optimization.
  • Accelerate E-Commerce Growth: Own D2C revenue performance, conversion optimization, promotional effectiveness, customer acquisition, and retention outcomes.
  • Lead and Develop Teams: Provide direction, coaching, prioritization, and accountability for website, digital marketing, and CRM functions.
  • Own Promotional Planning: Partner with marketing, merchandising, creative, and retail teams to build integrated launch and promotional calendars that support commercial goals and brand standards.
  • Advance CRM and Lifecycle Marketing: Oversee segmentation, personalization, loyalty, acquisition, retention, automated journeys, and campaign programming.
  • Guide Platform and Technology Priorities: Identify and lead initiatives that improve site experience, data quality, operational efficiency, and conversion performance.
  • Manage Agencies and Partners: Lead strategic relationships, contract discussions, and performance planning with agencies, media partners, and technology vendors.
  • Optimize Investment: Manage digital marketing and creative budgets, evaluate channel performance, and reallocate resources based on business impact.
  • Protect Brand Excellence: Serve as a senior approver for digital assets, campaigns, and customer experiences to ensure a consistent premium presentation.
  • Build Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate with brand, creative, retail, logistics, finance, and leadership teams to deliver seamless omnichannel initiatives.
  • Provide Executive Visibility: Deliver clear reporting on performance, risks, opportunities, and recommendations to senior stakeholders.

  • Total digital revenue and promotional contribution
  • E-commerce conversion rate and average order value
  • Customer acquisition efficiency and blended return on ad spend
  • Customer lifetime value, repeat purchase rate, and retention
  • CRM engagement, revenue contribution, and audience growth
  • Website performance, user experience, and digital project delivery

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in digital, e-commerce, CRM, and performance marketing.
  • Demonstrated success growing D2C e-commerce businesses and multi-channel digital marketing programs.
  • Strong knowledge of e-commerce analytics, lifecycle marketing, media measurement, conversion optimization, and digital budgeting.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams, external agencies, and technology partners.
  • Ability to combine strategic vision with hands-on operational leadership in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent executive communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong appreciation for premium consumer experiences, brand stewardship, and compelling digital storytelling.
