Job description

Sr. Manager, Growth Marketing
Contract – 6 months
Hybrid On site In Sherman Oaks
60hr-70hr

Employment Type: Freelance

Join a fast-moving consumer beauty and lifestyle organization as a hands-on growth marketing leader. This role will build and optimize a high-performing paid media engine, turning customer insights, creative performance, and commercial data into scalable demand generation.

The Sr. Manager, Growth Marketing will own paid media strategy and execution across key acquisition channels, establish disciplined testing frameworks, and translate performance data into clear business decisions. This is an ideal opportunity for a commercially minded operator who thrives in a high-launch, high-growth environment.

Responsibilities

  • Paid Media Strategy: Develop and lead full-funnel paid media strategy across paid social, paid search, affiliate, shopping, connected TV, and video platforms.
  • Channel Investment: Manage real-time budget allocation across channels, balancing growth, return on ad spend, customer acquisition cost, and contribution margin.
  • Testing & Optimization: Build repeatable learning frameworks for creative testing, audience segmentation, bidding, landing-page optimization, and incrementality measurement.
  • Performance Reporting: Deliver concise, action-oriented reporting that explains performance results, business implications, and recommended next steps.
  • Attribution & Measurement: Serve as an internal subject-matter expert on cross-channel measurement, attribution, and performance interpretation.
  • Creative & Performance Alignment: Partner with marketing and creative stakeholders to ensure paid media supports brand standards while driving measurable demand.
  • Agency & Vendor Leadership: Manage external agencies and technology partners, establish expectations, and hold partners accountable for results.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate closely with creative, direct-to-consumer, retail, analytics, and marketing teams to align media activity with launches and commercial priorities.
  • Operational Ownership: Step beyond traditional channel management when needed to solve problems, accelerate execution, and improve growth outcomes.

Qualifications

  • 6–8+ years of experience in performance marketing, growth marketing, or paid media leadership.
  • Strong experience supporting direct-to-consumer, beauty, lifestyle, or similarly fast-paced consumer brands.
  • Deep expertise in paid social and paid search, including major social and search advertising platforms.
  • Working knowledge of affiliate marketing, shopping feeds, connected TV, and video advertising.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to evaluate CAC, LTV, ROAS, contribution margin, and media efficiency.
  • Experience with multi-touch attribution, incrementality testing, or other advanced measurement approaches.
  • Strong creative judgment and the ability to partner with creative teams on performance-oriented briefs and iteration.
  • Advanced analytical skills, including the ability to build models, evaluate channel performance, and challenge assumptions in the data.
  • Comfort using AI-enabled tools to improve testing velocity, analysis, and campaign optimization.

Who Thrives in This Role

  • A builder who is energized by creating scalable systems rather than simply maintaining existing processes.
  • A decisive operator who can move quickly while knowing when deeper analysis is needed.
  • A commercially focused marketer who connects channel performance to revenue, margin, customer value, and brand health.
  • A collaborative, low-ego leader with high standards for both the work and the way teams work together.
  • A consumer-brand enthusiast with a strong point of view on beauty, lifestyle, customer behavior, and creative trends.
