Technical Designer – Men’s and Women’s
The Technical Designer is responsible for managing the fit and construction development process to ensure high-quality garments, cost efficiency, and on-time delivery. This role partners closely with cross-functional teams to bring designs to life while maintaining brand standards and consistency.
- Lead fit sessions on live models, evaluating garment fit, construction, and styling details
- Accurately measure samples and identify fit issues, providing clear solutions to teams
- Communicate fit corrections and technical updates to vendors within reasonable timeframe
- Apply grade rules and execute pattern corrections using digital pattern systems
- Develop and maintain accurate tech packs, including specs and construction details
- Translate design concepts into technical specifications and construction documentation
- Ensure consistency in fit, grading, and construction across product categories
- Maintain libraries of patterns, blocks, and fit standards
- Collaborate with design and product development teams from concept through production
- Review tech packs for accuracy and cost efficiency prior to production handoff
- Create and maintain QA and fit reports with precision
- Work across multiple product categories, with a focus on knitwear and sweater construction
- Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail
Qualifications
- Degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Production, or related field
- 5+ years of technical design experience
- 2–5 years of patternmaking experience
- Advanced knowledge of garment construction and fabric behavior
- Proficiency in digital patternmaking systems, PLM tools, Illustrator, and Excel
- Strong understanding of grading and fit standards
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Self-motivated and adaptable in a dynamic environment
