Job description

Our client is seeking a highly strategic Senior Manager, Customer Data & Marketing Analytics to establish and scale enterprise customer data governance while building the foundation for a more sophisticated marketing measurement capability.

This role sits at the intersection of:

  • Customer Data Governance
  • Master Data Management (MDM)
  • Marketing Analytics
  • Sales & Marketing Operations
  • Executive Stakeholder Management

The successful candidate will partner closely with Marketing, Analytics, IT, Salesforce, Privacy, and Executive Leadership to improve customer data quality, standardization, measurement, and business decision-making.

The role reports to the VP of Data & Analytics with a dotted-line partnership to Marketing leadership.

Overview:
50% Customer Data Governance

Lead enterprise customer data strategy across:

  • Salesforce
  • ERP systems
  • Analytics environments
  • Customer master records

Responsibilities include:

This person will help operationalize customer data across a highly acquisitive organization with multiple ERP environments.

50% Marketing Analytics & Measurement

Build foundational measurement capabilities around:

  • Channel effectiveness

Channels include:

  • Trade shows/events
  • Digital marketing
  • Brand awareness
  • Print

The company is not yet ready for advanced attribution modeling.

10+ years experience in:

Bottom line: This is a strategic, cross-functional leadership hire meant to build the foundation for both customer data governance and marketing analytics maturity at nVent, requiring a candidate with a rare mix of B2B marketing, enterprise data, stakeholder influence, and executive communication skills.

Role mandate: This hire will help lead enterprise customer data governance, standardization, and alignment while also supporting the evolution of the marketing analytics function.

  • Data maturity: A golden customer record already exists in the analytics environment and is being integrated into Salesforce, but it has not yet been fully operationalized across the enterprise.
  • Marketing analytics maturity: The function is still in an early stage, with the current focus on measuring lead generation performance across channels such as events, digital, brand, and print.
  • Future-state analytics goal: The longer-term objective is to build the data foundation first, then move into more advanced attribution modeling, likely over roughly a one-year roadmap.

Current scope: This is currently an individual contributor role, with potential for future team growth and direct reports as the governance function matures.
