Our San-Diego based client is looking for a Product Development Manager to join their team to help develop and drive brand strategies and analysis.
Responsibilities:
• Partners with key Cross Functional team to drive innovation, develop product, determine owned brand assortment, and create brand integrity.
• Creates comprehensive, cohesive brand/category presentations.
• Completes follow-up on all placement’s to ensure product specifications, quality standards, deadlines, and deliveries are met as contracted.
• Assesses market competition by comparing the company's product to competitors' products.
• Brings new products to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs; preparing return-on-investment analyses; establishing time schedules with engineering and manufacturing.
• Creates an effective work environment by developing a common vision, setting clear objectives, expecting teamwork, recognizing outstanding performance and maintaining open communications.
• Management experience in product development and / or merchandising, especially with private and/or exclusive brands
• Owner of Product Lifecycle / Development Timelines
• Hard-lines experienced a MUST
• Knowledge of the product manufacturing techniques, fabrications, costing that will be used to produce the line of products the manager will be responsible for.
• Experience work with Asia Sourcing Offices
• Industrial Design experience a PLUS
• Understanding of Financial / Business Acumen (holistic / how to own it / fits in broader picture)
• Ability to work as part of a team and interact effectively with others, in a fast-paced environment
• Cross-Functional Team / Soft Skills - Collaborative, not afraid to voice the Status Quo
• Works well under pressure (tight deadlines, self-learner)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
