Our dynamic apparel client is growing their accounting and finance team, and looking to add an Accounting Manager.


Job Summary:

As an Accounting Manager at [Company Name], you will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial activities and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our company's financial records. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, in-depth knowledge of accounting principles, and a proven track record of driving efficiency and process improvements within the finance function.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Provide insightful financial analysis and variance explanations to support decision-making.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of accountants, ensuring a high level of performance and professional development.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment within the finance team.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process, collaborating with department heads to ensure accurate and realistic financial projections.
  • Monitor and report on budget variances, providing recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular reviews to identify and address any control deficiencies.
  • Manage the annual external audit process, coordinating with auditors and providing necessary documentation.
  • Address audit findings and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Oversee cash flow forecasting and manage banking relationships.
  • Optimize cash management processes to ensure efficient use of company funds.
  • Stay informed about changes in accounting regulations and ensure the company's compliance with all relevant laws and standards.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA designation preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with 2+ years in a supervisory role.
  • Thorough knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
  • Experience with Blue Cherry ERP Strongly Preferred
  • Fashion and apparel experience is a plus!
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
