Job description
The Assistant Designer is a member of the Apparel Design team, working under the direction of the Senior Apparel Designer. This position plays a critical support role in ensuring that the division executes seasonal product development in accordance with corporate financial objectives, brand strategies, and seasonal development calendars.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
- Assist with style sheet creation
- Work in PLM system
- Perform sketch and style updates
- Communicate material and trim needs to materials team
- Communicate handloom and lab dip requests to colorist
- Own material and trim documents
- Organize all design and trim binders
- Assist with design documents used by the team
- Assist with seasonal sales meeting presentations and other meetings/events
- Organize all SMU and Outlet product initiatives at the design level
- Active participation in seasonal creative development

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in apparel design
- Industry work experience a plus
