Assistant Designer (Swim, Active, Lounge, Apparel)
Assist senior and head designer with the design and development of our inline and exclusive assortment.

Responsibilities
· Research trends
· Find fabric and trim design inspiration
· Sketch CADs in Adobe Illustrator
· Set up color palettes in Adobe Illustrator (look up RGBs for selected pantones and set up AI color palette)
· Scale prints, review with senior and head designer
· Update PSD and AI print files with correct color standards and update scale
· Organize print files by print vendor, create print numbers, and rename print files
· Set up the initial print trackers for new seasons (add screen shots of each print and their corresponding print numbers)
· Request lab dips and strike offs according to approved pantones and artworks
· Maintain strike off files
· Work closely with PD on domestic proto fits and samples (If needed pick up markers from patternmaker and drop off markers, fabrics, trims etc. with the factories)
· Run errands to patternmaker’s, factories, Fedex, etc.
· Create linesheets
· Update inline and SMU linesheets
· Add S/O and color information to the season tracker
· Help to maintain and update trackers
· Spec reference samples for tech packs and if needed import fit samples, TOPs, etc.
· Create tech packs, POM Page, BOM page, fill in initial spec sheet for tech packs
· Tech packs: Create detailed sketch (filled and unfilled), make all stitch/construction callouts, as well as, include any inspiration pictures helpful to creating the sample
· Responsible for SMUs including CADs, strike offs, lab dips, creating and updating trackers
· Assist with photo editing, graphic design, etc. as needed
· Create simple repeat prints in Adobe Illustrator
Qualifications/Experience:
- AA, AS, or Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design
- 0-2yrs Fashion Design or related experience
Skills:
· Adobe Illustrator: Advanced knowledge
· Adobe Photoshop: Basic knowledge
· Google Sheets: Basic knowledge
· Google Docs/Microsoft Word: Basic knowledge
· Dropbox: Basic knowledge
· Garment and fabric construction knowledge (activewear and swimwear knowledge a plus)
· Organized
· Open to feedback
· Able to meet deadlines and help maintain the calendar
· Able to work on multiple projects at once
· Positive attitude with a willingness to learn
