Job Summary:
Our client is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Assistant Buyer. As an Assistant Buyer, you will work closely with the buying team to support the procurement of merchandise for our company. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for retail and consumer trends.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the buying team in the selection, negotiation, and procurement of merchandise
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, consumer preferences, and competitive landscape.
- Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of purchase orders, invoices, and inventory levels.
- Monitor and analyze sales data to identify opportunities for product assortment improvements.
- Assist in the development and execution of promotional strategies to drive sales and maximize profitability.
- Coordinate with various departments, including marketing, operations, and inventory management, to ensure smooth and efficient execution of buying activities.
- Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions to make informed buying decisions.
- Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations for management, providing insights and recommendations on product performance and market trends.
- Support the buying team in managing vendor relationships, including conducting vendor meetings and resolving any issues or concerns.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Retail Management, or a related field.
- Previous experience in buying, retail, or sales is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively negotiate and build relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Knowledge of consumer trends, market dynamics, and competitive landscape in the retail industry.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and self-motivated approach.
