Job description

FABRIC DEVELOPER RESPONSIBILITIES

• Spearhead all fabric sourcing and developments for entire Men’s Segment and partial Women’s. 

• Partner with PD and Design to ensure fabric MOQs and cost are within targets. 

• Strategize and problem solve fabric issues, lead-time and delivery with minimal input by manager. 

• Maintain data accuracy across all fabric development charts and records in PLM. 

• Collaborate with Design, PD, and Tech Design for requesting and approving wear tests. 

• Develop a new end-to-end fabric development process that enables and elevates innovation, productivity, efficiency, quality and profitability. 

• Manage daily communication with fabric suppliers to deliver highly innovative fabrics and provide technical support with design, product development, product integrity, and vendor support. 

• Establish new fabric concepts and hand-off to designers and developers with proof of concepts. 

• Follow fabric concepts through approval with creative Design team. 

• Develop new manufacturing technologies from a global sourcing base, including non-traditional materials used in other industries. 

• Evaluate current fabric categories, identify areas in need of expansion, and coordinate integration of newly sourced and developed fabrics. 

• Partner with PI Team to ensure all fabrics developed meet testing requirements and end use is properly understood. Carry out and evaluate product modifications if necessary. 

• Maintain an organized and updated fabric library. 

• Work with RM Manager and Product Integrity team to establish core fabric standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

• You have over 4 years of experience working closely & building relationships with fabric manufacturers. 

• You have strong knowledge of fabric constructions, finishing, dying, printing, testing standards and sustainability. 

• You have excellent spoken and written communication skills and ability to multitask/work effectively both independently and as a team. 

• You are knowledgeable in the apparel manufacturing process. 

• You have visited factories & have a keen eye for quality, compliance & process optimization. 

• You are a multi-task master & can handle multiple projects working with a variety of cross functional partners. 

• You pay great attention to detail, are highly organized and adhere to deadlines.
