The Creative Services – Graphic Designer Manager (Senior Art Director)Our client is a Global Law Firm seeking a proven strategic thinker, an experienced hands-on designer, and a strong visual storyteller. This role is central to the overall output of the firm’s global Brand & Communications Department, ensuring every project delivers on the creative vision and aligns with the brand.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Leads projects from concept to execution, including design campaigns and templates,
- logos, advertisements, collateral, presentations, microsites, digital platforms, and
- video/motion graphics, among other projects
- Contributes to creative discussions with colleagues in Public Relations (PR), Digital Media,
- Video, Internal Communications, and Editorial Services teams, as well as colleagues in Business Development, Recruiting, and Attorney Development
- Collaborates with the Traffic & Operations team on the Digital Asset Management (DAM) tool, developing guidelines, and ensuring proper organization and usage of assets
- Stays abreast of firm priorities and developments, as well as news and current events relevant to the firm and legal industry and trends in the design field
- Helps the Creative Services team move to a digital-first mindset
- Contributes to the concepting, development, and production of internal and external-facing campaigns; executing multiple projects concurrently and within designated timelines
- Maintains high standards for innovation, presentation, and attention to detail
- Works with Creative Services leadership and Traffic & Operations team to delegate work
- Promotes effective work practices, work as a team member, and show respect for coworkers
Specifications
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design required
- Equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- A minimum of 7 year’s experience as an Art Director or Associate Art Director in a professional services organization or agency
- Experience with Content Management and Digital Asset Management systems, digital and social marketing, web design preferred
- Expert typography (kerning, leading, tracking), hierarchy, color application, grids, layout, and accessibility skills
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud, Invision, Sketch, Figma, PowerPoint, Canva, and email marketing software
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, ability to communicate skillfully to different audiences
- Well-developed professional and interpersonal skills; ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firm and outside the firm
- Excellent leadership skills (i.e., organizing, planning, problem-solving, and decision-making) necessary for effective management
- Eye for great photography
- Organizational skills needed to manage time well, prioritize effectively, and handle multiple deadlines
- Strong understanding of design, digital, social media processes
- Demonstrated ability to pivot quickly to meet deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to explain the “Why” behind design decisions/recommendation and navigate subjectivity
- Ability to work and lead in a team environment with a customer-service focus
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with the appropriate discretion
- Must be comfortable and productive in highly visible, high-pressure environments; must understand and defend the importance of brand consistency
