Overview
The individual in this role must be creative, curious, organized, agile, and show initiative. A good sense of garment construction, fit, color, proportion, fabric, and marketplace trends are essential. Fluency in Adobe creative suite, as well as the ability and enthusiasm for all things digital and presentation, are a must.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Stay on top of fashion and color trends, regionally as well as globally.
- Conduct research into the marketplace for fit and style and build trend boards
- Support category and design leads and contribute to seasonal concept direction
- Sketch and create Technical Packs to be handed to the Product Development team.
- Manage and update Tech Packs to ensure all information is accurate and up to date
- Create and manage BOMs in FlexPLM Attend Fittings and track and note all changes and communicate to team
- Organize and maintain, all samples and design tools including competitor sample racks, fabric handlooms, color requests, product mock-up requests, etc.
- Some Domestic travel for market research
- Brief and track sundry approvals.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with the cross-functional teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Art or Design – related field.
- Preference for fashion majors.
- Two years experience in an apparel design firm responsible for like-tasks.
- Fluency in Adobe Creative Suite, CLO, Microsoft Office
- Excellent attention to detail
