Job description24 Seven is partnering with their advertising agency clients to find them a Director of Client Services to join their team in this full-time position. Brief details are below to review.
The Director of Client Services is responsible for the oversight, direction and effectiveness of the Account Management department and partners with the Business Development discipline. This person will work closely with the Director of Growth & Marketing. In addition, they will provide mentorship and guidance to Account Managers helping them manage client expectations. This role also supervises the Director of Project Management.
-Manage internal Account team to mentor, train and provide support to staff. Advocate for department across the agency.
-Partner with the Finance department to track revenue, profit and other financial metrics. Own the forecasting process: track and project quarterly and annual revenue by client.
-Guide the Account team to identify new opportunities within current accounts and help them to cross-sell agency services.
-Manage the account team to negotiate rates and contracts, track write-off amounts and recoupment plans.
-Develop a clear understanding of the client’s business objectives, challenges, target audience and growth/expansion expectations. Guide the team to provide strategic creative solutions that offer the client immediate and long-term success.
-Ensure that the Account team is effectively meeting creative expectations for each project and collaborating to support output and meet expectations.
-Work with Project Management Director to help ensure projects are on time, on budget and on brief.
-Set rates, terms and contracts while overseeing the financial negotiation process with procurement and new clients.
-Lead postmortems to capture key learnings to help advance the agency.
-Act as primary contact for external legal partners, reviewing contracts.
-Help the Director of Growth & Marketing in identifying targets, leads and opportunities as well as developing pre-qualifying guidelines for new business opportunities.
-Help develop an annual Sales & Marketing plan with specified targets, goals and metrics.
Bachelor’s Degree – preferably in Marketing, Advertising or Design Management or equivalent professional experience.
At least 8 years account or brand management experience as the primary owner of multiple client relationship(s) in the creative industry.
At least 3 years managing a client services team including mentoring, coaching and providing feedback.
Extensive client-facing exposure and account direction; comfortable providing strategic solutions.
Proven track record of growing agency/client relationships and creating annual account plans that map to client strategy and goals.
Strong financial negotiation skills as well as a deep understanding of metrics such as revenue, profit, labor vs COGS and margin.
Understanding of brand and business strategy – ideally within apparel, footwear, CPG or tech industries
