The Site Merchandising Specialist is responsible for supporting the strategy, innovation and development of our members' shopping experience. The successful candidate will demonstrate a winning attitude, be flexible, action and results oriented, analytical and self-starting. WHAT YOU’LL DO
• Manage and optimize placement of products, categories, product listing pages, and visual merchandising presentation on our website to maximize discoverability and to improve overall shopping experiences for our members
• Executes day-to-day site initiatives that contribute to overall business goals; resolving site content issues, executing site optimization strategies, launching campaigns, and executing on various small and/or complex business solutions
• Demonstrates a good understanding of site best practices (i.e.: SEO, site merchandising, usability, product and category content) and ensures proper implementation across all areas within division
• Demonstrates expertise in using various site publication and content management systems; understands how the back-end and front-end systems work and are integrated to power core site features such as taxonomy, attribution, SEO, search, navigation
• Collaborates across category and campaigns teams to provide input into promotional calendars and seasonal events or campaigns, and shares merchandising ideas that drive site optimization
• Review and approve supplier sponsored ad placements and creatives. Act as the liaison between the site experience team and the online media sales team(s)
• Generates reports detailing operational, member-specific, and site-specific metrics across all platforms and functions; tracks results against benchmarks to monitor category performance and report anomalies to Site Merch Managers for further analysis and actionable insights
• Acquires and applies knowledge of customer demographics, behaviors and decision trees to create basic analytical reports (e.g., click-path, traffic) to identify site improvement areas
• Provide recommendations related to site improvements including features, functionality and capabilities to enhance the consumer experience
• May be asked to run and drive strategy of a minor category within the category division
• Performs routine site audit and user acceptance testing to ensure consistent and best in class site experiences
• Shares knowledge of systems and processes; helps with documentation of any new tool, systems, and processes to support training and knowledge retention within the team
• Models compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity
WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE Minimum Qualifications:
• 2+ years of experience within retail and/or e-commerce merchandising
• Omniture, or other analytical experience
• Expert in Microsoft Excel
• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, or equivalent experience Preferred
