Accounting Clerk Overview:
Our client is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join their finance team. The Accounting Clerk will play a crucial role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations while ensuring efficiency and accuracy in all tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong aptitude for numbers, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining accurate financial records.
Accounting Clerk Responsibilities:
- Perform data entry as related to accounts payable and receivable documents.
- Prepare month-end invoices, and reconcile reports, including month-end purchase accrual accounts.
- Perform Accounts Payable/Receivable duties as required.
- Will be required to perform other Accounting Office Admin duties as needed.
- Assist in the preparation and processing of financial documents, including invoices, bills, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Record daily financial transactions accurately and timely into the accounting system.
- Reconcile bank statements and financial records to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date filing systems for financial documents and records.
- Collaborate with other departments to obtain necessary information and ensure accurate coding of expenses.
- Support the payroll process by accurately recording employee time and attendance data.
- Communicate professionally and promptly with vendors, clients, and internal stakeholders regarding accounting inquiries.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of accounting operations.
Accounting Clerk Qualifications:
- An associate degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. A bachelor's degree is a plus.
- Proven experience (1-3 years) in an accounting or finance role is preferred.
- Familiarity with accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Integrity and strong ethical values in handling confidential financial information.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to changing accounting procedures and software.
