Job description

We are looking for a full time ContentWriter/Editor to work a full time role at a unique beauty based company in the Charlotte suburbs. This position will require some onsite days. 

This role will primarily be working on the content around email, blog and potentially help with video.

The ContentWriter/Editor will develop print and digital content that showcases the products and services of the Company. They are responsible for editing, updating, proofreading and summarizing various reports, manuscripts, articles, speeches, proposals etc., that are usually of a sensitive or complex nature, in order to ensure consistency of quality, style and content.

This role publishes content that accurately reflects the Company mission and vision through close collaboration with the Content Manager and the creative team.

ROLE:
The ContentWriter/Editor will develop print and digital content that showcases the products and services of the Company.

They are responsible for editing, updating, proofreading and summarizing various
reports, manuscripts, articles, speeches, proposals etc., that are usually of a sensitive or complex nature, in order to ensure consistency of quality, style and content. This role publishes content that accurately reflects the Company mission and vision through close collaboration with the ContentManager and the creative team.

The Content Writer/Editor will develop an editorial style that identifies with the
brand image the business wants to project to the marketplace. This role is responsible for the final revisions of all collateral content released by the Company. To be successful in this role, the Content Writer/Editor must know how to use a variety of writing and publishing programs, such as Microsoft Office, G Suite andWordPress.

Strong attention to detail, the ability towork under pressure and the ability
to consistently meet deadlines is essential.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Create content marketing campaigns to drive leads and subscribers
• Proofread, re-structure and edit content
• Use SEO best practices to generate traffic to the Company websites
• Develop related content for multiple platforms, such as websites, email marketing, product descriptions, videos, and blogs
• Actively manage and promote our blog, and pitch articles to relevant third-party platforms
• Analyze content marketing metrics and makes changes as needed
• Collaborate with other departments to create innovative content ideas
• Produce well-researched content for publication online and in print
• Organize writing schedules to complete drafts of content or finished projects within
deadlines
• Utilize industry best practices and familiarity with the organization's mission to inspire ideas and content
• Interview industry professionals and use online sources to research topics
• Follow an editorial calendar, collaborating with other members of the content production team to ensure timely delivery of materials
• Monitor and analyze the performance of key performance indicators (KPIs) to offer
suggestions for improvement
• Use search engine optimization (SEO) strategies in writing to maximize the online visibility of
a website in search results
• Performs other related duties as assigned


SKILLS:
• Proven record of excellent writing and editing skills demonstrated in a professional portfolio
• Proficient in the English language, to include idioms, current trends in slang and expressions
• Ability to work independently on an assignment, and collaboratively as member of a team
• Ability to work on multiple projects with different objectives simultaneously
• Strong time management skills, including prioritizing, scheduling and adapting as necessary
• Strict adherence to the style guides of each Company brand and their policies for
publication
• Knowledge of digital marketing tactics, including SEO, email marketing and web analytics
• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively
• Ability to generate new Ideas and concepts


KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPI):
• Ability to determine business needs and Company objectives for content
• Continuously improve by capturing and analyzing the appropriate content data/metrics,
insights and best practices, and then acting on the information
• Collaborate with other departments (marketing, sales) to manage reputation, identify key
players and coordinate actions
• Practice time management skills and proven ability to meet deadlines


QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
• Associates degree or two years of vocational school required;
Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, Communications or a related field preferred
• 3+ years of professional writing experience in a digital platform environment
• Familiarity with keyword placement and SEO
• Proven work experience as a Content Writer w/portfolio of published work
• Able to multitask, prioritize and manage time efficiently
• Self-motivated and self-directed
• Hands-on experience with Content Management Systems (e.g. WordPress)
• Proficiency with computers, especially writing programs, such as Google Docs and Microsoft
Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
