Job description
The Accounting Manager will primarily support all accounting functions related to an efficient and accurate monthly financial close. Strong technical accounting skills and knowledge of accounting standards (GAAP) are required along with a strong working knowledge of the balance sheet and income statement.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing and overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and forecasts
- Conduct financial analysis and provide recommendations for improvement
- Monitor and maintain financial systems and controls
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and improve efficiency
- Reconciling all general ledger accounts at least monthly to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data (including daily/weekly bank and credit card reconciliations, factored AR reconciliations, and others as needed)
- Manage Accounts Payable (Vendors, POs, Expense Classification, Invoice Payments, 1099, etc.) to ensure vendors are paid timely, invoices are recorded properly, and that there is proper documentation prior to payment
- Manage Accounts Receivable (assist with managing the entire process from sales entry through collection)
- Inventory (assist with managing the process from PO through payment, valuing the inventory, reconciling the count/value on a monthly basis, etc.)
- Assist with the preparation of the CPA Reviewed Financial Statements
- Assist with HR oversight/admin including onboarding, maintaining reports, maintaining complete files, payroll processing, timekeeping management, PTO tracking, benefits administration, employee relations, and PTO compliance
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)
- Proficiency in NetSuite (strongly preferred)
