Job Description: Apparel DesignerOur client is seeking an experienced Mid-Level Apparel Designer to join their team. As an Apparel Designer, you will play a crucial role in creating innovative and trend-setting designs. Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with the design team to develop and execute seasonal design concepts that align with the brand's vision and target audience.
2. Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, consumer preferences, and competitive landscape to inform design decisions.
3. Create detailed design sketches, technical drawings, and specifications for new apparel styles, ensuring accuracy and adherence to brand standards.
4. Develop and present design concepts, mood boards, and color palettes to cross-functional teams, including merchandising, product development, and marketing.
5. Work closely with the product development team to ensure designs are translated into production-ready samples, considering fit, functionality, and cost.
6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to review and approve samples, providing feedback and making necessary adjustments to achieve desired design aesthetics and quality.
7. Stay updated on industry trends, attending trade shows, fashion events, and conducting store visits to gain inspiration and insights for future collections.
8. Maintain an organized and up-to-date design archive, including sketches, fabric swatches, and inspiration materials.
9. Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturers to source materials, trims, and embellishments that meet design requirements and quality standards.
10. Ensure timely and accurate completion of design projects, adhering to established timelines and deadlines.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related field.
2. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in apparel design, preferably in the fashion industry.
3. Strong portfolio showcasing a range of design concepts, technical skills, and creativity.
4. Proficient in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD programs.
5. Knowledge of garment construction, fabric properties, and manufacturing processes.
6. Ability to interpret market trends and translate them into innovative and commercially viable designs.
7. Strong understanding of brand identity, target audience, and market positioning.
8. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
9. Detail-oriented with a keen eye for color, pattern, and proportion.
10. Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
