Job description
Associate Designer Responsibilities:
• Assist in concept and research development for seasonal collections
• Provide support and assist the Design Lead with all components of the design process
• Administer tech packs with full details, including images and BOMs
• Work with Design Lead to create graphics and artworks
• Update line sheets from concept to production approval
• Attend fittings and keep records as related to updated styles and tech pack updates
• Assess trim needs at the beginning of each season during creative process
• Schedule and coordinate meetings with cross functional partners as needed
• Responsible for organizing and maintaining periodicals, artworks, garments and trims
• Follow up and coordinate assigned projects in order to meet stated deadlines
• Performs additional duties, as requested
Qualifications/Experience:
• Must have a two-year AAS or College degree in Fashion Design
• Must have a minimum of 2-4 years of experience in Design assistant and/or internships
• Must be proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Microsoft Excel
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated success in both written and verbal communication
• Must be a team player, have ability to manage multiple projects with strict deadlines and take initiative
• Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize workload in order to meet all objectives and allow the various initiatives of the Design/Product department to be accomplished in a timely manner
• Must be detail oriented, organized and a strong self-starter
• Must be able to take direction.
• Ability to work under pressure in an environment of constant shifting priorities and change, while maintaining a positive attitude
