Job Summary:
Our client is seeking a talented and experienced CAD Engineer specializing in Body Interiors Systems and Components. As a CAD Engineer, you will be responsible for conceptual design development, detailed design, and production release of various body interior components such as IP, Console, Doors, Hard Trim, and Soft Trim. This role requires proficiency in Catia V6 software for creating CAD surfaces and solids, GD&T application, fastening design, and the utilization of CAD methodologies.
Responsibilities:
- Develop conceptual designs for body interior components
- Create detailed CAD models using Catia V6 efficiently while maintaining high standards
- Apply GD&T principles to ensure geometric requirements are met
- Manage system information in Enovia PLM and Catia V6 environment
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including studio designers, packaging engineers,
advanced engineering teams, manufacturing teams,and suppliers to develop optimal design solutions
- Champion good fundamental design practices across the vehicle's exterior system
- Support the development of best practices for design and engineering processes
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant engineering discipline (minimum requirement)
- Minimum of 2 years' experience designing interior trim and components within an automotive setting
- Proficiency in creating complex CAD models using Catia V6 software quickly and efficiently
- Strong understanding of interior process such as wrapping,injection molding,painting,and compression molding
- Familiarity with common structural part manufacturing processes like stamping,
extrusion,and casting
-Adept at utilizing computational tools available to design engineers
-Proven experience with GD&T principles applicable to part assemblyand customer requirements for gapand flush
