Our client is a contemporary women's and men's apparel and accessories brand.Role Overview: Ensure all Denim products meet the fit, quality requirements of the design and brand aesthetics. Work closely with the Senior Director of design to establish and implement all key design developments with vendors. Provide technical expertise in product fit, construction standards and manufacturing methods.
Technical Designer Responsibilities:
- Lead the Technical Design process for the department from development through production.
- Generate and maintain detailed technical packages and effectively communicate the fit and product execution to factories.
- Ensure all timelines are met and work with Associate Denim Designer to properly track and ensure all key dates
- Lead all Fittings and ensure proper solutions and decisions are made.
- Work closely with associate technical designer to ensure pattern and block libraries are maintained.
- Collaborate with patternmakers, production department and factories on identifying and resolving fit, construction and workmanship issues.
- Ensure all Approvals are issued from sample garment to production in timely manner.
- 5+ years TD experience in Denim, women's is a must
- Proficiency in garment fit, denim specs and construction
- Must have experience with luxury or contemporary product
- Experience in handling all garment categories
- Working knowledge of Outlook and Adobe Illustrator
- Knowledge of RLM and Gerber a plus
