Job description

Our client, a growing fast casual restaurant, needs a contract Design Manager, with a background in interior store architecture/design, and strong PM skills, to join their team immediately. Contract duration will be around 4 weeks to start, with potential to extend; 40 hours per week, completely remote (Chicago or NY preferred). 
 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee design process of new restaurant pipeline to ensure a seamless transition from new deal, to design, to construction.
  • Assist Real Estate and Development teams in the evaluation of prospective locations, including:
    • Preparing test fits/3D models
    • Performing or coordinating Code analysis to flag potential permitting issues
    • Reviewing and assessing existing building conditions and/or Landlord-provided base building drawings
    • Providing design-related feedback on Landlord Work Letter.
  • Coordinate due diligence efforts during pre-design phase to develop sufficient and accurate information necessary to complete design.
  • Prepare design kick-off package to introduce team members to project.
  • Review design documents to ensure Cava’s design standards/requirements are accurately reflected.
  • Assist with reviews of contractor shop drawings or responses to design questions (RFIs).
  • Coordinate with facilities and operations to help monitor ongoing needs of existing restaurants providing input where needed.
  • Maintain detailed files for all projects in with Cava filing standards.
  • Provide input into corporate decisions regarding store design and branding strategy.
  • Develop relationships with qualified design vendors in new markets that Cava may be expanding.

Requirements:

  • 3-5+ years retail design experience
  • Strong Project Management Skills
  • Bachelors degree, Architecture or similar 
  • Basic AutoCAD experience
  • Ability to manage a high volume of projects at once
  • Highly motivated and organized
