Development/Design Room Assistant
Client Overview:
Our client is an apparel manufacturer, they are looking for an Development/Design Room Assistant to join their team.

This position is onsite fulltime in La Palma, CA..

Job Overview:
You will support the Design team on all aspects of the product lifecycle from concept to final development. 
This is a great opportunity for someone passionate about fashion and design, who is looking for an environment where they can thrive and grow.
* Must have 1-2 years of industry experience

  • Responsibilities:
    • Provide administrative support from concept to design to final development
    • Assist with the management of cross-functional communication between merchants, production, technical design, and external vendors
    • Collaborate with other teams internally to organize & keep track of samples
  • Assist Senior Designer with all aspects of design and development as needed
  • Manage work flow from the cutters to sewers
  • Maintain/organize line sheets with most updated information
  • Photograph and scan garments+ downloading to shared drive for tech packing
  • Set-up fabrication & reference pages for tech packs
  • Set-up BOM’s for costing
  • Create and pass tech packs in Excel for overseas team
  • Pass all physical standards to production team with print outs of necessary pages + scans
  • Proficient knowledge of fabrication construction of garments.
  • Ability to take direction and work under pressure in an environment of constant shifting priorities and change.

Key Qualifications
  • Strong organizational, time management and communication skills with the ability to prioritize the workload in order to meet all objectives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion, Design or related area, 1-2 years in the Industry
  • Bilingual Spanish Preferred
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, Microsoft Word and Excel
