Director of Marketing, Beauty Overview:

As the Marketing Director for the Beauty division, you will play a pivotal role as a brand steward, guiding the development and execution of the product roadmap and go-to-market strategies. Your responsibility extends to ensuring a consistent voice and message across diverse channels such as Packaging, Advertising, Infomercial, PR, Social/Content Marketing, Web Properties, collateral, and trade. Your direct accountability lies in achieving a high rate of sale for all products, emphasizing both sell-in and sell-through for both new products and the existing portfolio. The ideal candidate will possess a general manager mindset and the ability to collaborate and operate across functional boundaries.

Director of Marketing Responsibilities:          
 
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to define portfolio strategy, ensuring alignment with retailer reset windows and achievement of market share and margin targets.
  • Gain comprehensive understanding of price, positioning, competitive landscape, and market needs.
  • Translate data into actionable insights, recommending a compelling product assortment and roadmap to drive sales.
  • Work closely with Product Development, Marketing Communications, Creative Services, and Marketing Services teams to execute brand-building communication strategies and go-to-market plans.
  • Partner with Consumer Insights to identify and validate strategic questions, providing recommendations to cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrate thought leadership on emerging trends and consumer insights to enhance communications.
  • Effectively communicate product value proposition to the sales team, collaborating with Category Management for a compelling sell story.
  • Conduct post-evaluation and analysis of activities, offering insights for future brand activity improvements.
  • Support the development and implementation of best practices and processes across all consumer touchpoints.

Director of Marketing Requirements:
 
  • Willingness to relocate for the position; the role involves a hybrid work arrangement, requiring onsite presence three days a week in Needham, MA.
  • Minimum of 10 years of marketing experience, preferably in CPG, with direct responsibility for brand strategy, messaging, positioning, and COMMS strategy execution.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field required; MBA preferred.
  • Proven expertise in leveraging consumer insights for effective marketing programs and campaigns.
  • Experience in new product development and global marketing is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to make impactful presentations to all management levels.
  • Broad spectrum of marketing skills, including strategy definition, plan development, and successful product launches.
  • Holistic and strategic thinking with the ability to connect the dots across the business.
  • Project management proficiency, handling multiple projects concurrently in a complex cross-functional matrix.
  • Strong skills in influencing, conflict resolution, and creative problem-solving.
  • Ability to synthesize complex product features into compelling consumer benefits.
  • Comfortable working at a fast, iterative pace with a "progress vs. perfection" mindset.
  • Action-oriented with a proactive approach; comfortable rolling up sleeves to get things done.
  • Managerial experience, including team management and development.
  • Proficient in mining and analyzing data to draw meaningful conclusions.
