Director of Planning and Allocation:In this position, you will be responsible for oversight of the inventory planning and allocation efforts for Retail brick and mortar doors as well as a rapidly growing E-Commerce business. A strategic professional with second-to-none analytical skills will thrive in this integral company role.
Specific responsibilities:
• Partner with Buyers to formulate effective inventory planning strategies that maximize profit for each individual retail location, keeping in mind market research and industry trends
• Lead a monthly OTB meeting, forecast future business and hindsight business from previous month, with an opportunity and risk assessment of sales plans go forward
• Engage in weekly, monthly, and quarterly store allocations and inventory planning
• Implement seasonal sales and promo strategies into long-term plans
• Provide weekly, monthly and quarterly sales hindsight reports
• Work with cross-functional leads to manage a corporate calendar for design, production, buying and allocation
• Train and manage lower-level planning and allocation associates
• Address all logistics and distribution problems with warehouse personnel
• Manage inventory movement between Retail and Wholesale channels, partner with Wholesale lead on inventory liquidation strategies
Requirements:
• 6-7+ years of experience in merchandise planning, preferably for a women’s apparel brand
• Advance proficiency in MS Excel
• Exceptional inventory planning, relationship management, and leadership skills
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
• Proven analytical skills; ability to draw extensive and insightful conclusions from large data sets
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Strategic and resourceful approach to all work
• Well-organized and methodical, with excellent attention to detail
• Capability to take ownership and adapt when it comes to all projects
• Self-motivated problem solver
