Job description

The Flavor Chemist will be responsible for developing compound flavors, creating new formulations, and ensuring sensory requirements are met. This role requires strong communication skills, excellent organization abilities, and a passion for food and beverage products. The ideal candidate will have experience in the juice-based or alcoholic beverage industry and possess knowledge of regulatory compliance. 

Responsibilities:
- Utilize expertise in compound flavors to develop new formulations or enhance existing ones.
- Drive ideation for flavor innovation and product renovation.
- Develop formulations for high-quality beverage products that meet sensory requirements.
- Create compound flavors for juice concentrates and other products based on specific customer or internal requirements.
- Collaborate with our R&D team on internal products and private label projects.
- Skillfully pair flavors together to create impactful taste profiles across all products.
- Stay updated on industry trends and continuously source unique flavor ingredients.
- Establish a process for finished goods and flavor extensions to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Maintain effective relationships with flavor suppliers and ingredient vendors (alongside the internal procurement team) ensuring a consistent supply chain of ingredients.
- Coordinate testing procedures for products when necessary.
- Participate in sensory evaluations as required.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry or related field is required
- A minimum of 6 years' experience working as an experienced Flavor Chemist within the juice-based or alcoholic beverage industry
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Excellent organizational abilities
- Experience working with CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) products, preferably in the alcohol beverage or juice-based sector
- Passion for food and beverage, especially alcoholic beverages
- In-depth knowledge of TTB (Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau) regulations and/or food and beverage regulatory compliance
- Familiarity with working alongside external resources such as suppliers and co-manufacturers
