Job description
Overview: This role is on site in Westport, Connecticut three times a week.Responsibilities:
- Develop, execute and follow-up on design concepts for Home Goods ranging from fabric, pillows, wallpaper, blankets to home accessories and paper goods
- Translate seasonal inspiration and original art works into fully articulated line based on merchandizing and creative direction
- Prepare graphic files and color separations for screen prints so art is “print ready” when sent to the vendors
- Design and research line elements as required and/or assist in creating, updating and designing as required for sales tools and presentation aids
- Work closely with Merchandising, Production, Sales and Brand Management teams to conceptualize and launch seasonal lines
- Communicate directly with vendors to ensure that the ideas are converted into products in a timely manner
- Manage and oversee the design process to ensure that lines are meeting the style plans, sales needs and emerging trends
- Ensure accuracy and adherence of line sheets for production logs and content creation
- Excellent Photoshop/Illustrator and technical graphic design skills including but not limited to: clean working techniques, file organization and file management
- Strong attention to detail with organized communication skills •
- Ability to set up design tech packs completed with information for vendors, including a sketch, design callouts, detail sketches, graphics, and/or prints
- Good presentation skills, both verbally and visually, with capability to execute cohesive and clean graphic files according to vendor specifications
- Knowledge of printing techniques and execution of artworks on various products
- Experience In working with acrylic and textile products is preferred Minimum 5 years’ experience
