Job description

Our client, a growing name in the beauty space has an immediate need for a Director of Marketing with a background in social media and influencer relations. This is a fulltime position that is hybrid in the LA area.

 

The role is responsible for spearheading overarching communication strategy for Social, PR & Influencer marketing plans in support of brand and product marketing objectives and priorities. The Director leads a small team of communications specialists and agency partners across the disciplines of PR, influencer marketing, digital marketing, social media, partnerships, events, seeding strategy and offline activations, and ensures holistic execution of marketing activities and campaigns across these touchpoints. The Director serves as a thought leader and a mentor for the team, encouraging outwardly focused culture of continuous learning, experimentation and evolution. She promotes analytical, metrics-oriented mindset across the Marketing Communications organization, to continually evaluate impact and effectiveness of various communications and content activities. This role also stays abreast of industry trends, monitors competitive activities and marketing strategies, and ongoing developments across the communications landscape, to inform and shape the brand's evolving marketing mix and tactics.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Strategic Planning 

  • Drive development of holistic communications and content strategy that delivers against product and brand-level storytelling objectives 

  • Informed by brand team, develop annual global marketing communications strategies and plans, including: 

  • Key Product focus and brand messaging communication o Channel mix and opportunities 

Creative approach 

  • Oversee developments of yearly tactical communications and content calendars o Ensure alignment with key promotional time periods and product launches 

  • Define which communication channels are incorporated 

  • Ensure overarching messaging and tool messaging is integrated throughout 

  • Define value stream opportunities and shifts and ensure that cohesive message is delivered in all channels 

  • Lead ongoing evolution of digital strategy and furnish and encourage digital thought leadership for the larger communications team 

  • Define media mix and investment levels in collaboration with media agency, eComm and Sales teams 

  • Develop budget and samples plan to support communications plan 

Media & Advertising 

  • Ensure media calendar is aligned with key product priorities and messaging 

  • Work with brand team and eCom partners to develop messaging lifecycle and creative approach to ads to ensure consistent messaging and optimization 

  • Collaborate with Customer Marketing team on various customer media and other customer-driven communications initiatives to ensure alignment of overall strategy and activities 

Content Marketing 

  • Drive development of content for all channels, in line with brand and product narratives and priorities 

  • Oversee content calendar development and briefing; ensure content and communication is cohesive from email, to homepage content and mini landing pages, from ads to organic social. 

  • Work with brand team to align on product communication narratives 

  • Work with creative team to develop visually arresting assets 

  • Work with eComm team to support and integrate promotional communications as part of the larger communications plan 

 

Stylist Strategy 

  • Drive development of integrated stylist strategy and stylist ambassador + network program 

  • Direct cross-channel plan to further brand objectives via stylist activations and partnerships 

  • Oversee stylist recruitment, relations and program execution Team Management 

  • Work with teach team member to: 

  • Meet goals and deadlines 

  • Develop fresh thinking and new ideas 

  • Improve processes 

  • Excel in position and continue to learn

 

Experience 

  • 10+ years of experience in Influencer marketing, PR & Social 

  • Preference for having a blend of experience between agency & client side 

  • Experience in leading agency partners & teams
