One of our small full-service agency clients is looking for a Media Director to join their team and help own/lead all media strategy and planning efforts for the agency and their internal media team (4-5 planners).

This Media Director will work directly with clients and be the leading voice for all media strategy/execution, and lead in the preparation of RFPs to develop compelling pitches and presentations to effectively sell the media department's capabilities, services, and offerings to potential clients.

The Media Director must be a confident, hard-working, motivated self-started who can thrive in a fast-paced small agency environment, and be passionate about keeping up with media trends and leading the agency's media insights/strategy.


Ideal Media Director candidates will have:
- Ideally 15+ years of media planning/strategy experience, agency experience is required
- At least 10+ years of experience managing direct reports
- Expertise in both traditional and digital marketing channels (TV, Radio, OOH, OTT, Search, Display, and Social) with a deep understanding of cross channel media planning and buying
- Strong understanding of research and planning tools and ability to educate teams on various platforms (i.e. Advantage, Nielsen Media Impact, Nielsen Ad Intel, ComScore, Strata, MRI Simmons, Kantar/Vivvix, Pathmatics, etc.)
- Proven track record of building successful client and media partner relationships
- Strong technical skills and demonstrated ability to think strategically
- Strong presentation skills
- Experience and strong understanding of measuring campaign performance
- Proven ability to interact with people at all levels of an organization, fostering strong cross-functional teamwork and results
- Strong team leadership skills. Ability to manage, motivate and mentor team members
- Willingness to “dig in” and get the job done
- Fully proficient with MS Excel, G Suite, Adobe tools


Job Responsibilities:
- Demonstrated industry knowledge, expertise and thought leadership across all media, specifically digital and programmatic planning, buying, and reporting.
- You bring forward innovative industry trends, new technologies, and emerging media channels to inform strategic solutions to the media team recommendations
- Maintain collaborative relationships within agency departments (Strategy, Creative, Account, Production) to develop comprehensive media strategies aligned with client objectives and goals and performance driving results
- Ability to confidently communicate across the organization and with executive leadership in a manner that is clear and understandable
- Provide thought leadership POVs and ability to present comprehensive reports and insights on campaign performance, providing actionable recommendations for future optimization and success
- Be a self-starter with strong communication and presentation skills who thrives on developing strong client relationships in order to sell in media recommendations to clients
- Assist in the preparation of RFPs to develop compelling pitches and presentations to effectively sell the media department's capabilities, services, and offerings to potential clients
- Build client and vendor respect to be recognized as a leader on their business and provide expert guidance on media strategies, trends, and opportunities
- Oversee campaign buying, management and reporting, including in-depth analytics of reach/frequency, CPA, ROI, ROAS and incrementality with extensive experience with platforms including: Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Looker Studio, Google Ads, Meta Ads, Programmatic DSPs (e.g. Trade Desk), RMNs (Roundel, Walmart, Amazon), and Ad Servers
- Lead and motivate team through a collaborative management style, fostering open communication and development of skill and knowledge base while also providing guidance, advice, andmentorship to all members of the Media Team.
