LA Based clothing company that focuses on the Health industry, it looking to hire a Payroll Lead to join their team!Company is located near West LA – this is a Hybrid schedule.
Company hybrid schedule includes in office 6 days/month. It's three consecutive days (Tues, Wed, Thurs) the 2nd & 4th weeks each month.
Duties include:
- Own the management of the company's HRIS.
- Onboard and offboard employees into the system and provide essential training.
- Maintain employee data and all payroll information by collecting, entering, and auditing time tracking, salary data, PTO, sick and other leave, benefit deductions, and taxes in HRIS.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with HRIS as they arise.
- Manage preparation of all payrolls (regular, off cycle, bonus, termination, severance) in advance of deadlines.
- Prepare manual checks as needed. Ensure 100% accuracy and compliance with all county, state, and federal labor and tax regulations in tracking labor hours and processing payroll.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and documentation for HRIS and payroll processing.
- Train new employees and contractors on HRIS and hourly labor rules / policies, if applicable.
- Assist with employee education on benefits offerings, benefit enrollment or mid-year changes that may be needed to plan.
- Manage benefit onboarding and offboarding or continuation for terminated employees (COBRA).
- Audit all HRIS each month and ensure that they tie with active headcount, matching commitments, and bank deductions.
- Prepare monthly payroll journal entries.
- Prepare and submit all required payroll / benefits reporting (W2, 1099, 401K, EEO-1, ACA, EDD filings / garnishment requests, quarterly and annual state and federal filings).
- Provide detailed employee statistics on a monthly and ad hoc basis (gender, race, level, compensation, etc.) to management.
- Prepare monthly payroll journal entries.
- Create new user accounts in concur to allow expense reports and receipts
Qualifications:
- 5-7 years of payroll experience
- Public company experience
- Led/managed payroll process (i.e., can run payroll function by themselves) for 100+ employees
- CA payroll experience
- ADP experience (workforce now module or HR comprehensive services module)
- ADP e-time experience
- Payroll processing experience, including regular, off cycle, bonus, termination, severance, equity vesting earnings
- Experience working with employees in multiple states (i.e., processing multi-state payrolls)
- Familiarity with compliance (i.e. dealing with various county, state, and federal labor and tax regulations) in tracking labor hours, processing payroll, etc.
- Experience with hourly employees (mix of exempt and non-exempt employees)
- Experience with timecards, PTO, sick leave, benefit deductions, taxes, etc.
- Experience preparing payroll journal entries.
