Job description

Our client, a fashion brand in DTLA is looking for a Photo Editor to join their team!

Full time, direct hire
Must be willing to go onsite 5 days a week in DTLA


Summary/Objective:
The Photo Editor is responsible for retouching imagery and leads communication with any retouching vendors. Additionally, they work on set as a digital tech responsible for file naming, color adjustments, image exports, and troubleshoots any technical issues. This role supports in making sure all photo assets are shot correctly, edited with accuracy, and are delivered on time.

Essential Functions:
  • Edits images to our photography standards, including retouching, cropping, and color correcting
  • Works as the lead communicator with external retouching vendors to pass off imagery and meet daily deadlines
  • Assists in quality control of assets and re-edits. Communicates any issues to retouching vendor
  • Creates markup PDFs and communicates any edit notes
  • Responsible for uploading images to galleries for review and placing images in correct order
  • Sends galleries to internal stakeholders
  • Responsible for assisting photographers on shoots with lighting & equipment, set building, tethering, uploading cards, and additional duties as assigned
  • Assists with making photo selects and participates in review sessions with Art Director
  • Creates CaptureOne presets to apply to images, and makes adjustments as needed
  • Responsible for filenaming and exporting
  • Ensures images are accurate and high quality including color, saturation, focus and sharpness, and flags any issues to photographers and art director on set
  • Responsible for color accuracy and color correcting
  • Manages asset storage and maintains an organized structure/archive of images
  • Tests, packs, delivers, sets up and calibrates equipment for photo shoots
  • Troubleshoots any technical issues that arise on set in regards to camera, lighting, laptops, cables and additional equipment
Competencies:
  • Knowledge of Photoshop, CaptureOne, and Lightroom
  • Ability to meet and adhere to gallery deadlines
  • Organized and detail oriented, able to identify any issues in color or focus
  • Technical knowledge of photography, camera settings, and lighting
  • Retouching and color correcting skills
  • Experience working on set and assisting photographers
  • Ability to work at our Los Angeles, CA HQ studio and offsite shoot locations
