Product Design Lead
Reporting to: Head of Experience Design, XD & Creative Director
Who you are.
With a solid background in all aspects of product and service design, you’ll have a proven track record of creating rich brand experiences across multiple digital platforms. A keen eye for clean and simple design, possess superior UX and UI skills that can translate high-level concepts into inspiring layouts, functional prototypes and interaction experiences, using current design software. You’ll have a strong and intimate knowledge of working in an agile way, exploring UX processes, wireframes and flows.
On a day-to-day basis, you’ll be working closely with the experience and strategy teams to deliver a unified approach. And in this client-facing role, you’ll also need to be able to quickly grasp a brand’s architecture and their ambition and respond appropriately.
You will work within a nimble multidiscipline team to find customer first solutions; deftly able to edit ideas into their simplest form/expression; capable of unfolding a core idea into integrated streams of work and channels; unafraid to explore new territory and deliver truly fresh solutions.
You are a leader, able to make complex tasks simple for your team. You’re able to communicate challenges and predict blockers for stakeholders, and you’re able to take your clients on a creative and executional journey. You will live and breathe digital experiences, holding a passion for the craft of design at a visual and experience level, able to identify trends and inspire those around you.
Key Responsibilities And Challenges
You’ll be leading a team of analytics, data, UX and UI talent to deliver the digital web experience for a global automotive company. With a mature design system in place, you’ll have oversite of reimagination briefs, ecommerce, passenger and commercial verticals, owners’ dashboards and optimisation projects.
Your skill sets will need to cover but are not limited to;
? Collaborate with strategy, UX, UI and creative to define and implement innovative solutions.
? Delivering Ecommerce ecosystems that seamlessly integrate pre-purchase brochureware with successful sales funnels and conversions.
? Deeply understand and interrogate agency briefs and client business requirements to drive towards a more robust and innovative solution.
? Define and run usability research sessions with key customer demographics.
? Execute against all design stages from conceptual to final market testing.
? Conceptualize original ideas that bring simplicity and user friendliness to complex design roadblocks.
? Ability to anticipate blockers or issues and seamlessly steer the team around them.
? Work seamlessly with 3rd party teams as you integrate solution into their location/platform.
? Present and defend designs and key milestone deliverables to peers and executive level stakeholders.
? Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices and standards.
? Define and guard growing design systems across multiple application work streams.
? Champion best practice of usability and user-centric design.
? Seek to stay current with latest technology and holistic human interactions, seeking new opportunities to create unique experiences and innovations.
? Inspire and drive the team with a clear vision for execution.
? Lead and direct a team of cross-disciplinary members with varying skills and abilities.
? Proven experience working in a creative agency for 8+ years
? A solid grasp of Human Centred Design and a record of implementing Customer Experience work.
? Experience working with ecommerce systems to deliver end -to-end customer purchase journeys.
? Ability to create online experiences for mid and large sized organisations.
? Confidence working in isolation, in a design pair or with the wider team and client at any given moment throughout the process.
? Confidence giving clear direction to members of your team and the ability to constructively review that direction against an agreed timeline.
? Strong portfolio of key projects delivered in past years, calling out your role on the project, deliverables, responsibilities and successes achieved.
? In-Depth knowledge and experience of user research and testing, with the ability to approach and dissect both qualitative and quantitative data.
? Excellent communication skills (both in conversation and in writing) and a portfolio which demonstrates strong problem solving ability in various phases of design and delivery.
? Familiarity with the technical considerations needed when designing for customer experiences.
? Ability to work gracefully and have a bias for action in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment.
? Extensive experience building prototypes across multiple platforms, and being agile about the tools required to do so.
? Ability to drive the design review cycle and close on design requirements independently.
? High proficiency in Adobe creative suite, Figma, Invision and Sketch.
? Experience developing detailed, holistic user-flow specifications and design patterns.
? Worked within collaborative, cross-functional teams to deliver multiple, successful projects.
? Positive and open attitude to new technologies and the latest trends in user interaction design.
? Great organisational skills, able to juggle and prioritise.
? Support, drive and inspire the team around you towards success.
? Experience working with vehicle Configuration design a bonus.
