Seeking a Strong Project/Production Manager for growing beauty company in LA. MUST CURRENTLY be in LA and MUST CURRENTLY be a Project or PD Manager in the Beauty IndustryAbout the Role
The Project Manager- New Product Development provides continuous added value to the organization by leading key strategic, cross-functional innovation projects such as new product development, new product claims, key process improvements and visual brand upgrades to drive delivery of the product pipeline and growth through innovation goals.
Responsibilities
• Develop, maintain, and present timelines and dashboards from concept launch to product delivery for New Product Development and Change Management projects.
• Lead weekly category project meetings to communicate status updates to cross-functional team members.
• Own and drive issue identification and resolution and assure smooth transition between key decision points.
• Liaise with cross functional team members including Marketing, Sourcing, Planning, and Creative, as well as associates and headquarters to effectively communicate project scope and provide risk assessment.
• Attend and participate in weekly meetings with various vendors and suppliers throughout the product life cycle.
• Present supply chain recommendations to meet cost targets and launch timing for team approval.
• Maintain communication with all Licensors to meet new project deliverables.
• Drive a continuous improvement mindset in the overall project management process by streamlining activities for speed to market.
• Negotiate and help mitigate risks with cross-functional team members and suppliers to ensure milestones are met.
• Provide structure, fast project initiation, planning and well-coordinated execution thus enabling delivery of innovation to market in the fastest, most robust way possible.
• Resolve project related conflicts through skilled negotiation, tact and diplomacy.
• Conduct project reviews post key project stages and share learnings for future projects as best practice.
Qualifications
• Minimum of 5 years of Project Management experience handling multiple projects of different scope/complexity in the BEAUTY INDUSTRY
• Experience in Beauty is required
• Experience in new product development related area (e.g., Marketing, Supply Chain, R&D) with a focus on Beauty or consumer packaged goods (CPG)
• Demonstrated computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office) and proficiency in Microsoft Project
• Demonstrated leadership skills including prioritization, delegation, and conflict management of Project Team-related activities
• Demonstrated effective communications skills both written and oral, coupled with the sense to tailor to any one of a wide variety of audiences
• Strong analytical, meeting management, cross-functional team and leadership skills
• Comfortable operating in situations characterized by complexity, ambiguity and high levels of uncertainty
• An ability to map and understand complex, highly interdependent issues and find simple solutions
• Understanding of key business processes and functions within a Beauty or CPG company
• Negotiation skills and ability to influence with or without authority at all levels
• Bilingual ability in Korean/English preferred but not required
