SENIOR QUALITY CONTROL/QC FOR TOP PRESTIGE COSMETIC COMPANY IN LA! MUST LIVE IN LA!JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a Senior Quality Control Manager. This role will require a beauty industry expert who is able to facilitate and drive results in a fast paced and demanding growth environment. This position reports to the VP of Operations and will play a critical role in ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and consistency. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality control and/or quality management within the cosmetics industry, with a passion for clean beauty and sustainability.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop and implement quality control processes and procedures to ensure the consistency and safety of all products.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product Development, Operations, and Regulatory to establish quality standards and specifications for formulas, packaging, and finished products.
• Specification Alignment – ensure that all key stakeholders are aligned to accurate and reproducible product specifications for all our formulas
• Conduct thorough inspections and testing of formulas, in-process materials, and finished products to identify any deviations from quality standards.
• Responsible for collecting and defining review process for all in-process and complete stability and compatibility testing reports on all new development
• Receive, review, and file all COA documentation on all lots of manufactured product batches
• Monitor and analyze product production data, customer feedback, and industry trends to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
• Investigate and resolve any quality-related issues or customer complaints in a timely and effective manner, implementing corrective and preventive actions as necessary.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records of all quality control activities, including test results, inspections, and audits, in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Train and mentor quality control staff (at 3PL) to ensure compliance with quality standards and procedures.
• Work closely with Regulatory to stay up-to-date on industry regulations, standards, and best practices related to clean beauty and sustainability, and proactively incorporate them into quality control processes.
• Participate in internal and external audits, inspections, and certifications to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, efficiency, and sustainability across the organization.
PRINCIPAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED
• 5-10 years of experience in quality control or quality assurance roles within the beauty or cosmetics industry, with a strong understanding of GMP, ISO, and other relevant quality standards.
• BS/BA degree in chemistry, biology, cosmetic science, business, or a related field. Advanced degree or certification in quality management or regulatory affairs is a plus.
• Advanced Excel, Google GSuite, PowerPoint skills are required; Proficiency in quality management systems and software, such as SAP, QMS, or similar platforms preferred.
• Proven track record of developing and implementing quality control processes and procedures in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Executional mindset, strict attention to detail, and an eye for problem solving with continuous improvement and the ability to maintain meticulous records and documentation are all necessary skills
• Experience with quality control testing methods and equipment, including HPLC, GC, microbiological testing, and sensory evaluation.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards governing the beauty and cosmetics industry, particularly related to clean beauty and sustainability.
• Collaborative and trustworthy character with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
• Ability to manage multiple projects effectively at one time and work in a fast-paced environment
