24 Seven is partnering up with a well-known furniture company based in Portland, OR to help them find a Set Builder to join their team onsite 5 days a week! This opportunity is 6-8 weeks long and hours can vary week to week. While on contract, you'd be eligible for benefits including medical, dental, vision, sick time, 401K and holiday pay.This is a dedicated warehouse and photo studio position that supports all aspects of Set Building. You will collaborate with the Set Designer, to build sets for environmental and ecommerce photography. You will work with a team to execute the set builds from construction drawings and instructions.
Responsibilities:
- Construct sets from concept to final execution with attention to detail and original design intent
- Tasks include putting up walls, building cabinets and furniture, laying flooring and tile, and painting
- Support all aspects of wood shop - organization, maintenance, and storage of set components, as well as all materials and tools
- Adjust sets and install hardware during photo shoots when needed
- Support the photo team by installing set elements on location shoots if needed
- Transport materials and equipment and lift, move, and carry objects up to 50 pounds on a limited basis Criteria
- Minimum of 2 years of set building or carpentry experience
- Can frequently bend, twist, push, and pull. You are able to lift and carry large, bulky items including furniture. Must be able to lift up to 65 pounds independently
- Must be able to operate power and hand tools
- Can work a flexible schedule as needed
