The Opportunity:
As a key member of the executive leadership team, this role will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing all aspects of our end-to-end supply chain operations on a global scale. This includes responsibility for manufacturing, new product development, warehousing, distribution to retail and e-commerce customers, transportation functions, procurement of logistics functions, inventory planning, sourcing and quality control. The VP of Global Supply Chain also plays a strategic role in product engineering to support all of our new product launches. This role provides the necessary leadership by example to perpetuate and enhance our company culture of providing superior quality and customer service. The VP of Global Supply Chain reports directly to the CEO.


Essential Functions:
Global Logistics/Planning/ Procurement
• Develop and implement a global supply chain strategy for the company that supports the company’s growth and profitability targets. Source and manage top tier global third-party logistics providers including warehouses, return centers, and transportation management partners. Establish and track KPI’s to ensure these services are effective and scalable.
• Manage overall strategic production planning practices taking into consideration short term/long term production requirements and integrating materials availability. Partner with Commercial team to finalize customized retailer programs by negotiating vendor costing and defining product flows that meet the customer requirements.
• Responsible for managing the operational inventory to ensure adequate stocking levels for core product lines at all global warehouses and distributors. Oversee the SIOP process and responsible for the demand and supply planning functions.
• Develop and oversee a scalable e-commerce platform built to perform at peak promotional periods and provide an exceptional consumer experience
• Responsible for the development of sourcing strategies and spend categories which align with business objectives and growth strategies. Source products/services and manage supplier relationships while maintaining gross margin targets.
• Oversee cost negotiations for all key spend categories and mitigate year over year cost increases.
• Develop a detailed understanding of the functionality of existing systems and work closely with other functions to implement new functionality and/or new systems. Manufacturing/ Product Development/ Quality
• Responsible for managing all contract manufacturing relationships and sourcing/onboarding new manufacturing partners globally. Ensure all partners are able to provide superior quality and execute to our company’s rigorous standards.
• Partner with outside manufacturing vendors and oversee internal product development/engineering team to ensure new products are launched efficiently and milestones are met throughout the development cycle. Act as a strategic partner to the CMO in new product launches.
• Responsible for developing an active product innovation pipe and engaging engineering firms to develop prototypes for proof of concept. Work with Product Development and Marketing to ensure novel and innovative products are fed into the product launch pipeline and delivered on a timely basis.
• Provide periodic updates on product development to management. Attend industry conferences to keep informed of new product packaging directions, materials, processes, and manufacturing trends.
• Own quality management responsibilities including finished goods testing at vendors, internal testing to verify specs, field inspections process, corrective action plans, and product continuous improvement efforts. Utilize quality data to make product improvements throughout the life of the products.
• Ensure that all legal and consumer product regulatory certifications have been obtained for all new launches.
• Maintain alignment with all cross functional teams to ensure seasonal calendar deadlines are met for all projects
• Partner with Marketing, manufacturing, and design partners to discuss open issues to ensure neither product integrity, delivery, or profitability are compromised.
• Research sustainability initiatives for the company and drive implementation of eco-friendly projects
• Partner with outside legal counsel to proactively monitor patent activities in the category. Oversee new patent applications as needed.

Leadership:
• As a key member of the team, drive cross functional projects to support supply chain optimization. This includes driving the project management, thought leadership, solution innovation and change management.
• Manage and develop the Supply Chain team members. Establish productivity and quality standards and appraise individual performance. Assure that all people receive proper training on the job.
• Ensure all employees are aware that they contribute to cost efficiency, quality service, and professionalism.
• Possess a solid knowledge of the day to day operations and be able to translate that into operational plans.
• Conduct tasks in accordance with applicable health, safety, quality, and environmental regulations (state/federal laws, etc.) as well as our policies and procedures.
• Provide clear role responsibilities, accountabilities and metrics for team members. Perform timely career development reviews for each team member to be used as a basis for determining skill levels, value-added contributions and promotion-performance incentive awards. Interpersonal:

• Create and manage the Supply Chain/Ops yearly budget and re-forecasting process for Operations variables
• Responsible for tracking, reporting, and controlling the purchasing spend and overall budget analysis. Approve manufacturing/logistics PO’s for the company.
• Manage all contractual agreements with new and existing providers and ensure compliance. Proactively amend agreements as business need or scope changes.
• Ensure thorough familiarity with policies and procedures relating to standards of business conduct, and trains and motivates team in the importance of full compliance with the letter and spirit of such policies and procedures.

Education/Experience Requirements:
• Minimum 10-15 years of experience in leading global supply chain and operations organizations with multiple sites, preferably in the consumer products sector.
• Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Business, or related discipline. MBA preferred.
• Must have ERP systems understanding.
• Must be an innovator and embrace lean principles and practices
