Merchandise Analyst

The Merchandise Allocator + Analyst for Walmart will provide key data and analytics of performance within product categories across private label account for Walmart. The analyst will be responsible for weekly reporting, weekly allocations, new item allocations, tracking goods in transit, and supporting weekly requests from Walmart.

Walmart Analyst Roles and Responsibilties:

  • Assist with new item setup process.
  • Review weekly allocation orders to ensure orders are filling back to sales.
  • Write new item orders and track them to ensure they arrive at WM on time.
  • Work with WM Replenishment Manager to manage WM store level inventory, turning off low volume doors when needed, write SSOs to top doors, and submit weekly cancels.
  • Monitor inventory levels and review for re-orders for basic items
  • Weekly sales reporting of current business performance, both stores and e-commerce
  • Quickly fulfill ad hoc requests from the customer
  • Work closely with the VP of Planning to ensure all opportunities and liabilities are addressed.
  • Serve as support for reporting, including weekly top-line selling performance.
  • Compile style/color/size-level selling data for use in merchandising and inventory planning exercises.
  • Identify opportunities to improve forecast accuracy, establish action plans, and maintain high in stocks.
  • Partner with other functional areas such as the Warehouse and Information Technology teams on processes, systems, and reporting as required
  • Work with Walmart buyers and planners to ensure orders are dropped in the Walmart system and PO's received
  • Scorecard monitor and update on performance
  • Review future OTIF charges, and re-submit cancelations if needed.
  • Replenishment order accuracy / ensure goods pointing to the correct warehouse; monitor on-time shipping and incoming WIP ETAs; partner with warehouse teams on PO status & and communicate to Walmart

 

Walmart Analyst:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Minimum of 3+ years of previous experience in merchandise planning or supply chain/logistics
  • Retail Math proficiency is a must
  • Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel
  • Team player and problem solver in a demanding deadline-driven environment
  • Motivated, proactive, and highly organized
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to reach supported conclusions and make robust recommendations
