Job description


The successful candidate will be a brand builder who embraces the potential and positioning of the brand, while bringing appropriate business contacts and experience with sales representatives, agents, multi brand jewelry stores, department stores, concept stores, E-commerce.


Roles and Responsibilities

Strategy & Innovation

  • Implementing the distribution strategy and developing sell-in and sell-through programs to meet company's goals
  • Contribute to cultivation of new accounts and opportunities, as well as expand business with existing accounts
  • Manage external sales reps and business development to key accounts such as chain of stores, Department Stores and OnLine.
  • Work with the Marketing team to propose a seasonal/yearly retro-planning marketing plan.
  • Research and perform competitive analysis; maintain accurate forecasts for all accounts and product categories throughout the entire forecasting process;
  • Monitor relevant trends and communicate to Merchandising in product discussions and direction.
  • Partner with customers to communicate and execute brand positioning and key strategic initiatives for brand, where appropriate; propose and negotiate for optimal placement in store, including, where applicable, in-store shops
  • Communicate with management to review sales KPI's, marketing, market feedback and propose short and long term strategies to create greater sales volume.
  • Manage international wholesale and strategize on ways to grow the brand internationally

Operations & Results

  • Monitor, assemble and analyze weekly sales and stock levels; devise strategies and make recommendations to Supply chain, customers and internal partners regarding merchandising, markdowns and orders/ reorders,
  • Partner with finance and operations to ensure proper credit, shipping, and bookings for each customer;
  • Manage the profitability by account, relevant to all aspects of sales and sales programs as it relates to discount, returns, cancellations and chargebacks.
  • Oversee Rep commissions Travel to customer locations to meet with regional leadership and ensure proper in-store execution.
  • Attainment of all sales goals for each specific national/regional account.
  • Develop, maintain, and grow strong and effective relationships with buying teams, merchandisers, vendor relationships, DMM's, and executive management.
  • Make product presentations and work with buying teams to identify assortment plans, sales opportunities, and maximize sales growth.
  • Manage communications and feedback between customers and internal partners in Sales, Design and Production;
  • Partner with manager of retail coordinators program to ensure proper in-store execution of sales and merchandising strategies;
  • Partner with customers to manage co-op, allowances and givebacks


Team Management

  • Be an internal and external Company ambassador
  • The Wholesale Director will work closely with management, marketing specialists, and the ecommerce director to develop goals, opportunities and execute strategies for the company's sales & the growth of our market share.
  • Influence with a diplomatic touch by creating processes, coordinating, and collaborating throughout the company and externally.
  • Responsible for strategy, full execution of project initiatives, and project management while creating transparency for all key stakeholders.

Job Requirements:

  • A minimum of 10 years experience leading wholesale
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in the Luxury market and Jewelry or Accessories
  • Excellent communicator with a high level of autonomy and outstanding financial acumen
  • Entrepreneurial with excellent organizational skills
  • Strong connections to sales representatives and agents, specialty and department stores and proven experience developing jewelry / accessories with retail partners.
  • Understand the product and marketing needs
  • Able to direct an integrated retail marketing effort to support the sell-in and sell-thru objectives
  • A flexible multi-tasker who is willing to "roll up his/her sleeves.
