Wholesale Planner 

Role Overview:

The Wholesale Planner is responsible for the building and forecasting of financial plans and inventory analysis that drive toward the overall company sales and margin objectives. This role is accountable for the development, coordination, and review of account detail sales targets and product investments that tie to the financial plans. This role supports the Domestic and International Wholesale business for all categories , in the Full Price and Off-Price Channels. This prominent position works with peers across departments including sales, merchandising, production and finance.

Wholesale Planner Roles and Responsibilities:

Financial Planning and Forecasting
  • Develop monthly sales, dilution and gross margin plans to support company targets for both Full Price and Off-Price channels
  • Work with accounts to align on seasonal sales plans, profitability and OTB by door
  • Critical decision making with regards to sales opportunities, markdowns, inventory, customer returns, and pricing to maintain financial plans
  • Reforecast sales, margin, and receipts on a monthly basis and identify risks and opportunities
  • Long term growth plans by account for both revenue and retail sales
  • Partner with the Director of Inventory Planning to manage inventory and forecast off price flow
  • P&L management for agencies, distributors and concessions
Assortment & Receipt Planning
  • Prepare pre-market analysis for account executives to properly project seasonal buys
  • Develop quarterly receipt plans by category and own the global seasonal projection process
  • Work with sales and merchandising teams to ensure current and future product mixes support revenue goals
  • Analyze and track post-market bookings in order to drive to revenue targets
  • Prepare seasonal hindsight from final selling to share with planning, buying, sales and merchandising teams
  • Work with sales and merchandising teams on in-season reorders and chase opportunities
  • Help manage auto replenishment programs for all majors
Business Management / Reporting and Analysis
  • Report on weekly wholesale sales flash to management; add texture on key events and trends that may have impacted weekly sales
  • Maintain weekly topside sales flash, monthly business overview, quarterly dilution, and any additional historical wholesale data files
  • Represent our financial interests in pre-market and in season business meetings with sales teams and accounts
  • Complete specific ad hoc analysis to support the wholesale channel
  • Analyze processes to make efficient cross-functional improvements
Wholesale Panner Key Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in wholesale planning
  • Excellent analytical/quantitative and critical reasoning skills
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships with management and external resources
  • Proven track record of managing various projects and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with ERP and data visualization tools (Full Circle or 42 a plus)
  • Bachelor’s degree
