Job Description: Women's DesignerOur client is seeking a talented and creative Women's Designer to join their Apparel Design team. As a Women's Designer, you will play a key role in developing and executing innovative and trend-forward designs for our women's apparel line. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that our products meet the needs and expectations of our customers, while staying true to the brand aesthetic.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, consumer preferences, and competitive landscape in women's fashion
- Create and develop original designs for women's apparel, including clothing, accessories, and other related products
- Translate design concepts into detailed sketches, technical drawings, and specifications
- Collaborate with the Product Development team to select fabrics, trims, and materials that align with the design vision and quality standards
- Work closely with the Merchandising team to ensure that designs are commercially viable and meet the target price points
- Present design concepts and collections to internal stakeholders, including Design Directors, Merchandisers, and Production teams
- Participate in fit sessions and provide input on garment construction, sizing, and overall fit
- Stay updated on industry trends, new techniques, and technologies in women's fashion design
- Work with the Production team to ensure smooth transition from design to production, including resolving any design-related issues that may arise
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related field
- Proven experience as a Women's Designer in the apparel industry
- Strong knowledge of women's fashion trends, fabrics, and garment construction
- Proficient in design software such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
- Excellent sketching and illustration skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Detail-oriented and highly organized
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Passion for fashion and a keen eye for aesthetics
